How to take care of your mattress
FIRST 8 WEEKS
Two weeks after your mattress is delivered, rotate the mattress from head to foot. Repeat this two week pattern for the first six months of ownership. Check the label of your mattress for full details or give us a call.
ROTATE REGULARLY
To best protect your investment, we recommend that you rotate your mattress every 2 -3 months thereafter to ensure lasting comfort. Rotate your foundation (box springs) once a year.
PROPER SUPPORT
To prevent sagging, use a bed frame that has rigid center support, and that supports the head, foot, sides and center of the mattress and foundation. When you use a mattress and foundation in a bedstead with bed slats, use at least five rigid, no-sag slats.
SURFACE PROTECTION
Because staining and water damage void the warranty, we recommend that you protect your mattress surface with mattress and waterproof pads. Vacuum or brush the surface of your mattress, and expose it to air occasionally.
TO REMOVE LIQUID SPILLS
Use towels to blot as much standing liquid as possible. Apply gentle pressure to help absorb the liquid into the towels; do not press the liquid into the mattress.
TO PREVENT MILDEW
Mildew can occur as the result of the environment in which the mattress and foundation sit. Mildew is not a warranted defect. Once it occurs, little can be done to stop or remove it. To help prevent mildew from occurring, be sure your mattress and foundation have good air circulation around and under the bed, expose the surface to air occasionally, and brush or vacuum the surface when convenient.
PROPER STORAGE
To keep your mattress or foundation clean and free from dust and dirt, bag it but do not seal it shut. Store it flat. The foundation may rest on its side or on its end.
Always be sure to store your mattress or foundation in a clean, dry location.
IMPORTANT NOTES
-
Keep the law tag label attached at the end of your mattress or box spring. The tag serves as a means of identification to establish your warranty rights.
-
Keep your mattress dry. Water is very damaging to the mattress. The filling materials may compress so protect it from water and other liquids.
-
Do not place a board between your mattress and foundation (box spring). The two are designed as an integrated system to provide you with proper support. The foundation plays an important role.
-
Mattresses are not designed to bend from side to side. You may ONLY bend it from head to foot (unless it has a border rod... that will not bend.)
